Noah Living's gimmick is that customers can transform the product by adding different colors or parts. The signature piece, the Noah Sofa, combines timeless aesthetics with practical flexibility. It allows users to reconfigure and expand it over time. Each element is crafted in Germany from high-quality, durable materials. It also upholds the brand's dedication to sustainable design. The result is furniture that is incredibly comfortable and lasting, while also fitting various locations.

The client required a highly configurable theme and product page customization with vast color variation options. Without leveraging Shopify Plus development, they hit variant limits. Their idea was ambitious and complicated. Additionally, this option should be available on their three main emails:

  • order confirmation

  • shipping confirmation

  • contact the customer

We updated the email templates as part of our Shopify theme development services to match the new website design and fix fitting issues with the new theme. Also, the customer order flow was outdated and problematic, necessitating a more efficient process to manage incoming requests and sample ordering. A final requirement set the bar for presentation: the site had to look beautiful and high-quality on large screens, phones, and computers, with each section and feature meeting the same visual standard.

Creating a configurable product on Shopify

Our Shopify developers began with the smallest product: a set of coffee tables. On the storefront, each table appears as a single product with three color selectors (top, middle, and base). In order to provide customers with an accurate picture of the precise combination they select, the theme creates a live preview on the backend using stacked image layers (glass, color swatches, and finishes).

Because the store wasn't on Shopify Plus, we avoided multi-variant bloat and line-item scripts. Instead, the cart receives one standard product, and we pass the chosen options through line item properties. As a result of the product page customization, Shopify's speed and performance were high, respected the platform's variant limits, and preserved a clean catalog. This builder set the foundation for the rest of the website, simple for shoppers, lightweight for the platform, and ready to scale.

Shopify theme customization with breakpoints for every device

The client asked for a pixel-perfect experience across devices, and it mattered that the site looked beautiful and high-quality everywhere. We built a responsive Shopify theme with five target breakpoints and validated every section and feature against each one:

  • Mobile (portrait)

  • Tablet (portrait)

  • Tablet (landscape)

  • Desktop

  • 4K and large displays

In this custom theme, we implemented component-level layout requirements, an agile grid, and a graphic resolution that smoothly reflows at each breakpoint to enable this. On high-density displays, images employ responsive sources to maintain sharp graphics, while interface elements (menus, builders, modals) adapt according to breakpoints.

Email branding

Labeled, clear, and accurate. The brand's core messages are distributed through emails: order confirmation, customer notification ("contact customer"), and shipping confirmation. We customized email templates to match the site's visual language (type, color, spacing, and components). So every message felt consistent with the storefront.

This Shopify web design included configurable layered products assembled from orders. Standard templates could not show those choices correctly, so we added custom rendering logic inside the emails. Each message now lists the selected parts and displays a precise product preview, giving customers confidence that their order accurately reflects their exact configuration. This approach reduced support questions and kept post-purchase communication aligned with the brand.

Automated order management system

We replaced the previous logic with a new automated workflow built on Make, integrating it directly with Airtable. Now, when a customer submits a sample order, all data (product details, colors, and specifications) flows from Shopify ERP into structured Airtable records. Each order is automatically categorized and enriched with additional details, such as tags, supplier data, and logistics notes.

The categorized data in the order management system helps the client's team and suppliers to track every request in one place without manual data entry. We also optimized the flow to reduce unnecessary steps and prevent cost increments caused by excessive automation runs. In the latest version, we extended the functionality through Make, enhanced order data, and improved reporting accuracy.

Overall, this new Shopify store setup and automated order management system gave the client a faster, more transparent way to manage sample orders, minimize errors, and maintain full visibility across teams.
