About the client
Cadootz is a US brand that produces organic, whole-food protein snacks for kids. It's a small business created by Rachel and Jordan, parents of three young boys. Their mission is to offer something better than snacks for children – crave-worthy crackers parents can trust. The idea for the brand came about when they were looking for healthy snacks for their kids, but hadn't found one that met their expectations. As a result, they rolled up their sleeves and made the snack brand they were looking for to help others, especially those with kids.

About the product
Cadootz crackers are made with organic oat flour and 100% extra virgin olive oil, and include 5g of protein per 30g serving. At the moment, there are four Cadootz products available in the store – Cheddar, Ranch, Sea Salt, and Variety Pack. All are certified organic and gluten-free, and are produced for families who prioritize healthy food for their kids. You can purchase these snacks starting from three packs, and subscribe to repeat deliveries.


Challenge overview
The client was looking for a Shopify development agency to implement store improvements and new features. As we successfully delivered solutions for a Cadootz partner, the company owners decided to work with our team. We began by stepping into the shoes of Cadootz’s customers – navigating through the store. Our UI/UX audit uncovered some friction points that, together, were slowing the journey down. After sharing our recommendations and refining them with the client, we turned insights into action and began reshaping the store experience.

Our solutions
Reviews. We integrated Klaviyo reviews for Cadootz's online snack store to display real-world customer feedback on the homepage and product pages as trust signals.
Accessibility. To comply with ADA and WCAG standards and to make their online food store welcoming for everyone, the client asked us to implement an accessibility app. Using our Shopify integration services, we connected the UserWay app and configured it for Cadootz's needs, ensuring every customer could navigate and shop with ease.

Subscription feature. We developed and integrated a custom subscription feature that lets users receive their desired snack packs regularly at a discount. The recurring subtotal is displayed at checkout so customers can see which fee they need to pay each month. They can skip or cancel the subscription at any time if needed.
Comparison table. We added better visuals to improve the appearance of the table that compares multiple snack brands on the homepage.
Product carousel. For the online snack store's homepage, we implemented a product carousel with Quick Buy buttons so that customers can easily add desired snacks right after landing on the website.

Instagram feed. Since Instagram is the main source of website traffic, we integrated the GSC Instagram Feed app to display an Instagram widget with the latest customer video reviews and photos from this social media platform.
Mobile optimization. Our Shopify developer optimized the value proposition section to more effectively showcase it on mobile devices.
Header. Our team enabled the client to change header settings for each page, adding specific colors and fonts to highlight item differences. We also added an announcement bar to inform users about the latest offers, news, and opportunities.

Results of the case study
Our improvements resulted in a clearer user flow and made the Shopify online snack store's UI way more readable for the customers. Even though the Cadootz Shopify web design is simple, the website is highly functional and user-friendly, allowing the company to achieve high conversion rates. Within just one month after the website release, the client sold more than expected, even announcing delivery delays due to stockouts.
