Our client’s products are livestreaming solutions and shoppable videos ready for embedding on the most popular ecommerce platforms and social media. These features make it easy for customers to explore products and purchase them in one click without leaving the video. The company also provides tools for tracking user behavior, clicks, and conversions to adjust the look and feel of the video feeds to customer preferences.

The company sought professional assistance for Shopify integration solutions to seamlessly connect their service with this ecommerce platform. In this case, our primary goal was to develop an integration that would match both the service's logic and Shopify’s functionality, without compromising user experience. We started to work on the project by discovering existing features and the ways to connect them with Shopify. It took no more than three months before the results appeared.
Our solution – Live video shopping app

Ensuring setup process: We developed solutions to let Shopify users set up the client’s video widget app in just two steps – installing the app and embedding the SDK in the Shopify Online Store. To ensure this, our team worked hard on SDK refactoring to match the saved data with Shopify.

Deep linking: Our developers implemented deep links to help merchants add app blocks to the right section of their theme, minimizing their effort when working with the Shopify theme editor.

Shoppable video and collections: We developed the Shopify theme extension to let merchants implement videos and video feeds into their stores through the Shopify Admin. They can also tag their products in the videos to offer them to customers. Once the video is created, all the related data is sent to the client’s service through the SDK for sync.

Video embedding: To let Shopify users add a video or collection to some store pages, we developed a simple algorithm. A user needs to copy an automatically generated embed ID, then follow a deep link to add a content block to the desired page, and paste the ID to display the video.

Add-to-Cart feature: We implemented add-to-cart buttons to let customers who visit a store shop directly from embedded videos with a single click. If the purchase is complete, it’s reflected in the analytics.

Getting the Built for Shopify badge: Our team is currently working on adding features, such as extended analytics, to have the client’s app listed in the Shopify App Store as Built for Shopify.
Results of Shopify app integration for the live shopping platform
As a result, the client has the potential to reach the audience of more than 2 million Shopify merchants with their newly created app. Within the first month after the app launch, they’ve got 17 installations and positive feedback from customers who use it, which invests in their further growth.
